About me and my practice

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and a Registered Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). This means I adhere to their ethical framework and standards of good practice. I work with adults age 18+.

I specialise in Grief and Bereavement counselling. A service that is directed to aid individuals who are experiencing various forms of grief, from the loss of a pet, home, or job, to losing a loved one. There is no right or wrong way to grief, so come as you are, and together we will explore your thoughts and feelings at your pace.

I offer a private, non-judgmental, and empathic environment in which you may examine your difficulties in your own time and pace. A space free from assumptions and stereotypes. I adopt a client-centred approach and refrain from providing explicit guidance.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw from a blend of therapeutic lenses tailored to suit your needs.

Typically, we will convene weekly at a predetermined time for a duration of 50 minutes. You may choose to opt for 90-minute biweekly sessions, and if you require or desire additional counselling sessions throughout the week, such arrangements can be made, which depends upon availability. It may prove beneficial to attend a series of six consecutive weekly sessions, following which we can evaluate the progress of the counselling process and negotiate further sessions as deemed suitable.

Experience

Formerly, I served as a Volunteer Counsellor for Andover Mind and Cornerstone Warminster, where I aided individuals with a range of prevalent mental health issues and life challenges. My role encompassed offering both extended and brief therapeutic interventions. I have experience working equally with all ages between 18-80.

I have experienced practicing within a time-limited, solution-focused model. I have had the privilege to work with a range of presenting concerns from common life obstacles such as loss and bereavement to common mental health issues

My background in both children and adult social care and education has played an important role in my approach and intervention choice in my practice.

Additional Information

The number of counselling sessions necessary varies significantly for each individual client. You may require support for several months or even years due to the complexity of your personal journey. Conversely, you may only require a few weeks of assistance to address a specific issue. It is not a one fits all process. Following the resolution of your primary challenges, you may opt to continue counselling as a component of your overall well-being.

I believe that you are the expert in your narratives. With gentle curiosity and support as you navigate and come to understand the intricate mix of emotions you may be experiencing; I trust in the significance of the restorative relationship for you to achieve change and become self-fulfilled.
